On 28th April, EFESME was invited by its Spanish member, FEPYMA, to take part in one of the online meetings that the Spanish association regularly organises to inform its members about the latest news in the lift sector, both at Spanish national and European level. On this occasion, EFESME, represented by its Advisor Elettra Bilibio, had the opportunity to present its latest activities, with a special focus on certain topics, dear to the Federation and to its members: standardisation and the development of SME-friendly standards; the participation in the activities of CEN-CENELEC, ETSI, and ISO; the work within TF HaS and the revision of the EN81 series; the ever-present interest in standardisation and the more recent, but no less important, interest in BIM - Building Information Modeling. Important events such as the forthcoming SBS Lift Forum on BIM in the lift sector, organised online on the 27th May by EFESME and SBS, and the creation of a common EFESME pavilion for the next edition of Interlift (26-29 April 2022), were presented for the first time to the Spanish colleagues, to continue the existing fruitful exchange of information that allows EFESME to get input and proposals from the various national associations, so that it can bring to European level the voice of the SMEs it represents. There was also an opportunity to recall the importance of collaboration at European level and beyond, on the one hand with the European Commission and the partners SBS - Small Business Standards and SMEunited, and on the other hand with ELEVATOR WORLD and its European publication ELEVATOR WORLD Europe. These collaborations, which allow EFESME to develop projects, write articles and, in general, ensure that the voice and position of European lift SMEs are well known and heard where it counts, are of fundamental importance to the Federation, and as much a source of pride as the close and fruitful relationship with its national members. >>> More information on the FEPYMA meetings HERE (in Spanish):
