The second 2019 EFESME Experts Meeting took place on June 20th in Rome, at the ANACAM premises.
As in many previous editions, this meeting has served to the EFESME technical experts, both the ones directly involved in the activities of the working groups followed by EFESME and those who are assisting them, to discuss and analyse in depth the issues on which they are working; on the one hand, this occasion has allowed the experts to present the work they have done so far, and, on the other hand, to evaluate with their colleagues the different topics of interest, in a virtuous exchange of views, ideas, and solutions.
This Experts Meeting saw the participation of President Massimo BEZZI, of Vice-President Damyan PETROV, representing also the Bulgarian member BALM, and of the three EFESME Experts, Secretary General Luciano FALETTO, Mr Ivan FERRARINI, and Mr Tiziano CARESANI.
Present as well were Mr Luca INCORONATO, Policy Officer of EFESME, Mr Paolo TATTOLI and Mr Nicola DI LILLO for ANACAM, the Italian member of EFESME, and Mr Udo NIGGEMEIER representing the German member VmA.
This edition of the meeting touched important technical subjects such as: the decision by the European Commission to not publish on the OJEU six standards proposed by CEN-CENELEC, and the possible consequences on SMEs’ daily work; the standard EN81-20:2019 and the non-compliance to the EHSRs for what concerns tools and maintenance instructions; the continuous activities followed by the experts within CEN, ISO and NB-Ls, as well as activities related to the development of the Eco-design Directive.
More political issues were also touched during the meeting, with a particular attention to the good relationships between several organizations with whom EFESME is collaborating and with whom further projects can be developed in the near future. Last but not least, the sectoral approach on which EFESME has been working for years with SBS has been discussed in detail in order to better organise future activities.
The next meeting, which will give EFESME and its members a very good opportunity to summarise and appraise the activities carried out during a successful 2019, and to organise in more detail the projects to be carried out in 2020, is foreseen for the autumn.
