EFESME is organising the launch of the SBS Lift Forum on standardisation. The event will be held on December 13th from 10 am to 1pm in Brussels, at the SBS premises (Rue Jacques de Lalaing, 4).
Since the establishment of Small Business Standards, EFESME has always been at the forefront to spread and promote the SBS mission. Since this year, our Federation is involved in the SBS sectoral approach: thanks to this project, EFESME is implementing on behalf of SBS a set of activities aimed at fostering the participation of lift SMEs in the European standardisation processes. With the establishment of the SBS Lift Forum, SBS and EFESME intend to highlight the work undertaken by the experts in this direction.
This year, the theme of the event will be Impact on SMEs of the latest standardisation measures for lifts. After an overview of the standardisation framework for lifts, the Forum will focus on two issues. Firstly, we will understand how the new standards EN 81-20 and 81-50, entered into force as of September 1st, are affecting the work of the entrepreneurs of the lift sector. Then, we will illustrate how the Internet of Things (IoT) is applicable to the elevator industry by presenting the Task Group established within the ETSI Smart M2M thanks to the SBS sectoral approach.
For logistic reasons, we kindly ask you to register by Tuesday, December 5th by following the link below. The Secretariat is at your disposal at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. should you need any further information.
